Pedestal Dining Table
Dining Table Styles
While the style of your dining table is important the most crucial thing is to consider the size. To allow for chairs to comfortably move in and out you need at least 110 cm between the edge of your table and the walls or nearest piece of furniture. The dining table will be both seen and utilised more than a lot of home furniture, so the choice is never made lightly. Of course, there are many table styles, contemporary designers continue surprising us with their out of box designs, however, here are few most common table styles!
Pedestal Dining Table
Contemporary
As I already mentioned, contemporary designs vary greatly, futuristic shapes and use of new materials rediscover tables each time! Glass tops are popular, however, the trend of the last few years was a thin marble top!
Modern
Modern tables have a very close relationship with the development of plastic. Tulip table is the icon of modern design.
Classic
The most elegant classical tables I saw had a round shape. Their beautiful support leg always turns into a centre of proportion. Radial design of the room is always very appropriate.
Farmhouse Table
Farmhouse Contemporary
Contemporary designers experiment a lot with the shape of the legs of the farmhouse design! They twist and rotate them, change angles and materials.
Farmhouse Modern
As you see these tables can be fairly called — family tables. They are reliable and cosy. As a rule, the legs are quite bulky and sit on the corners of the tables. Strong table top base allows a wide distance between table legs.
Farmhouse Classic
Much more decorative then Modern tables, although somehow looking a bit bulkier. The space under the table top is often used as a storage for cutlery.
Trestle
Contemporary
Contemporary designers try to reimagine trestle tables make them more elegant and thin. Very often this sort of tables are used as a working space, of course, I would not recommend to use it if you have a big family, it is not durable enough.
Transitional
Another example of a well-designed family table! Very stable, this kind of table will serve you four many years, even generations!
Now its time to talk about Shapes of the Dining Tables.
Round Shape
Round tables are great for smaller square spaces and can usually fit more people because there are no corners. They are made for a cosier and more intimate dining experience since everyone is the same distance apart.
Rectangular Shape
Rectangular tables are ideal for longer rooms, larger groups, or dining spaces with foot traffic going through them. At a rectangular or square table, each person should have 60 cm of eating space. Rectangular tables are also great for bench seating which can be tucked under the table to make the room less crowded.
